Milwaukee’s 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade set for March 14 with downtown route and closures

What’s happening and when
Milwaukee’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026, bringing a large-scale procession back through downtown’s entertainment districts. Organizers identify this year’s event as the 58th edition of the parade, a long-running civic tradition that draws spectators to the central business district each March.
The parade is planned as a multi-hour operation involving street staging, a set route, and a de-staging period as participants clear the final blocks of the course.
Route, closures, and towing timeline
The published traffic plan outlines street closures beginning in the late morning and continuing into mid-afternoon. A staging area is set to close at 10 a.m., with additional route streets scheduled to close at 11:45 a.m. A de-staging area is expected to close at about 1 p.m. until units have cleared, with the clearance window listed through roughly 2:30 p.m.
The route is described as beginning on West Wisconsin Avenue and continuing through key downtown corridors, including North Plankinton Avenue, West Kilbourn Avenue, North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, West Juneau Avenue, and North Water Street. The plan also notes a de-staging segment continuing along North Water Street and an adjacent closure on East Highland Avenue.
Drivers should expect temporary “No Parking” restrictions along the route, with towing stated to begin at 7 a.m. on parade morning.
Transit and parking options
Public transportation is positioned as a primary option for reaching the parade footprint. The Milwaukee County Transit System is listed as providing routes from around the county into the downtown area. The Hop streetcar is also listed as a free option with stops located within a short walk of the route, including access points near Wisconsin Avenue and the Intermodal Station area.
For those driving, a recommended parking option is advertised at The Avenue parking structure, with entrances listed at 615 N. Plankinton Ave. and 258 W. Michigan St., alongside other nearby ramps and lots.

A post-parade event is also scheduled for March 14, running from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the St. Brigid Center, 2133 W. Wisconsin Ave., with an admission structure that includes free entry for children 12 and under and paid admission for adults.
