Why “critical” classifications matter

When law enforcement labels a case “critical,” it typically signals heightened concern about the person’s safety and the urgency of locating them. In practice, these alerts are intended to speed up the flow of tips—especially from residents, drivers, business owners and transit riders who may have seen the person or their vehicle shortly after they were last reported missing.

If you have information that could help locate Jewel Lay, contact Milwaukee Police District 4 at 414-935-7242.
