Ceremony at Fiserv Forum recognized a decade-plus of leadership during major changes for the franchise

Milwaukee civic leaders on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2026, presented outgoing Milwaukee Bucks president Peter Feigin with a Key to the City and a county proclamation during a ceremony at Fiserv Forum. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson delivered the Key to the City, and Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley issued the proclamation recognizing Feigin’s leadership and contributions during his tenure with the organization.

The recognition came weeks after the Bucks announced that Feigin would transition away from the role he has held since 2014. The team said the change would be managed over the coming months to support continuity in business operations.

Leadership tenure aligned with arena development and a championship era

Feigin joined the Bucks in 2014 and led the organization’s business side through a period defined by large-scale venue development and heightened visibility for the franchise. During his tenure, Fiserv Forum opened in 2018, replacing the Bradley Center and anchoring a broader downtown entertainment footprint that became known as the Deer District.

The Bucks’ on-court peak of the period was the 2021 NBA championship, the franchise’s first title in 50 years. The organization also carried out a rebrand and reported record-setting business performance during the same era, reflecting the expanded commercial reach of the team.

Transition plan: Josh Glessing named incoming president

On Jan. 5, 2026, the Bucks announced that Josh Glessing will take over as team president and oversee business operations. The organization said Glessing would work alongside Feigin during a transition period.

Glessing has been associated with the Bucks for more than a decade and most recently served as chief of strategy and development for Haslam Sports Group. He also previously worked in sports and entertainment investment banking, including work connected to financing for Fiserv Forum. The Bucks said Glessing led Haslam Sports Group’s transaction involving an investment in the team in 2023.

How official civic recognitions are used in Milwaukee

City proclamations are issued to commemorate significant events and achievements and serve as public acknowledgments rather than legal actions. Key to the City presentations are ceremonial honors, typically reserved for individuals whose work is viewed as having a lasting civic impact.

  • Date and location: Jan. 29, 2026, at Fiserv Forum.

  • Recognitions: Key to the City from Mayor Cavalier Johnson; proclamation from County Executive David Crowley.

  • Career context: Bucks president since 2014; transition announced Jan. 5, 2026.

Feigin said he was grateful for the honor and indicated he intends to continue supporting Milwaukee as his transition progresses.

The ceremony placed a public, civic marker on an executive tenure that coincided with defining milestones for the Bucks and for downtown Milwaukee’s sports and entertainment landscape.
