Federal sentencing follows 2023 conduct involving an 11- to 12-year-old child

A woman with ties to Milwaukee has been sentenced in federal court to 15 years in prison after being convicted in a child sexual abuse material case involving the production of images of a minor. The sentence was imposed on June 3, 2025, in U.S. District Court in Milwaukee by Judge Lynn Adelman.

The defendant, Chasity Evans, was 38 at the time of sentencing and was identified in court records as residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Ripley, Tennessee. The case centers on repeated criminal conduct that took place between February 2023 and June 2023, spanning periods when Evans was living in Milwaukee and in the Memphis, Tennessee, area.

What prosecutors said happened

Court records describe a scheme in which a minor child was used to create child sexual abuse material. The child involved was between 11 and 12 years old during the production of the material.

The records further state that the material was distributed by cellphone to a co-defendant and that transfers were tied to small payments made through a mobile payment platform. Federal charging documents filed earlier in the case alleged that Evans and the co-defendant aided and abetted repeated production of such material during the same February-to-June 2023 timeframe.

Sentence, supervision and registration requirements

In addition to the 15-year federal prison term, the court ordered a five-year period of supervised release to follow incarceration. Evans is also required to register as a sex offender under state and federal law.

  • Prison term: 15 years (federal)

  • Supervised release: 5 years after prison

  • Sex-offender registration: required under state and federal law

How the case was investigated

The investigation involved federal authorities in Wisconsin and Tennessee, with additional assistance from a sheriff’s office in Tennessee. The prosecution proceeded in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The case reflects a category of federal offenses that carry lengthy mandatory minimum sentences when the conduct involves the production of child sexual abuse material.

What remains public — and what is not

Public court summaries in the case outline the timeframe, the child’s age range and the alleged financial exchanges connected to distribution. The minor’s identity is not disclosed in court announcements, and details that could identify the child are generally protected in filings and public statements.

Federal sentencing in such cases typically considers statutory minimums, advisory guideline calculations and case-specific factors presented to the court at sentencing.
