Appointment takes effect immediately after interim run

TMJ4 has named Milwaukee broadcaster Andrea Williams the permanent host of its 6:30 p.m. weekday news-and-entertainment program, “Milwaukee Tonight,” with the change taking effect immediately. Williams had served as the show’s interim host for roughly three months before being selected for the role on a permanent basis.

In announcing the move, station leadership described Williams’ on-air approach as centered on community storytelling. “Milwaukee Tonight” is positioned as a daily program highlighting local people, places and events across the Milwaukee area.

Local broadcasting background spanning radio, sports and television

Williams joined TMJ4 News in May 2022 as a specialty reporter. Before moving into television, she spent about 25 years as a morning-drive radio personality in Milwaukee, including approximately 20 years at Jammin’ 98.3, where she also held responsibilities as news and public affairs director for the Milwaukee Radio Group.

A Louisville, Kentucky native, Williams moved to Milwaukee in 1996 to work at WKKV-FM (V100.7). Her career also includes roles tied to Milwaukee sports and local TV production. She spent 10 seasons as the Milwaukee Bucks’ original in-arena host and previously performed for six years as a Bucks Energee! dancer. In local television, she hosted and executive produced “Our Issues Milwaukee” and “Connect MKE,” which aired on Milwaukee’s CW 18 and My 24.

She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the Wisconsin chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists. In 2016, she was recognized as one of Wisconsin’s Most Influential African Americans.

Programming note: temporary Olympic hiatus announced

TMJ4 also said “Milwaukee Tonight” will pause for two weeks during the station’s coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics and is scheduled to return the week of February 23, 2026.

“Milwaukee Tonight” airs weekdays at 6:30 p.m. on TMJ4.

The appointment formalizes Williams’ role as the program’s lead host as TMJ4 continues to use the time slot for a mix of community-focused reporting and entertainment coverage in the Milwaukee market.
